Bloomsburg Town Park Crit Writeup
by Dan Kane, SpokePost.com Cycling
Published: 07/27/2004

Bloomsburg, PA Town Park Crit 123, 35 Miles

Course: .9 mile square, 4 left turns, Pancake Flat
Weather: Warm, dry, no wind

Spokepost Attendees: Kane, Krisko and Elsner
Spokepost Fans: The lovely and voluptuous Gina Elsner

Field: only about 30 - 35 riders including 6 or 7 Land Rover guys and a Landrover chick. There were actually 3 or 4 chicks in the race not
counting Jimmy.

The race: The Land Rover Guys were out to smash some legs, continuously sending one or more riders off the front causing frantic chases and generally wearing everyone down until about half way throught the race when everyone was starting to feel pretty fisted the field started to splatter. Just then a big split of about 10 or 12 guys went with only Steve representing the SpokePosters. A lap or so later, I put in an effort to bridge up and I think I brought the remnants of the field with me. Soon after another split of about 10 or so with only the Kane
representing this time. Steve looked around thinking he was in the field only to notice the field hade vaporated into thin air and it was only him and 3 other left to try and latch back on. Steve put in a
valiant effort to reintegrate but a prime announced just before he had latched back on doomed his effort. So now we had 10 guys left in the race, with 5 of them being Land Rover guys. So these guys kept on
attacking and attacking usually 2 at a time now until finally the elastic snapped and they had 2 guys up the road and then another bridged so they had 3 up and we had 4 guys trying to chase with 2 more Land
Rovers sitting on. Needless to say they stayed away, Feeling double fisted now, I was left to sprint for 4th, I did a weak assed pathetic "Paul Komanecky like sprint" to take the last paying spot, 7th. $30
